History of Ace of Clubs
Founded in 1973, Ace of Clubs Roadshow was put together by Dave Taylor
I came along early 80’s as a roadie to help put the kit in and out of venues having like Dave being the resident DJ of Wotton-under-edge youth club.
Over the years we have played alongside people such as Nelly Hooper from Massive attack, David Rodigan and Chris Forbes from the Channel 4 TV show Solid soul that used to go out on a Friday night.
With a mass of experience under our belts, Ace of Clubs was also a Severn Sound roadshow which was a local radio station based in Gloucester whom we did guest spots with celebrity DJ’s.
Having gotten bitten by the DJ bug, I went on to form Ace of clubs Entertainment and purchased some of the very same equipment as used back in them days now called retro to which there has been a sudden upsurge in the want for ‘retro’ type events and we are still the only fully vinyl and/or digital mobile disco in the area with over 28,000 titles to our names.
